Rendez-vous Interview: We’ll meet the new French Consul General in New Orleans Grégor Trumel. He’ll speak about what he hopes to accomplish here in Louisiana during his term and the renewed appreciation we’re witnessing in our region for our local francophone heritage.

Notre premier invité est le nouveau consul general de France à la Nouvelle-Orléans, Monsieur Grégor Trumel. Il nous parlera de ce qu’il espère accomplir pendant son mandat ici. 

French Corner: We’ll visit the Alliance’s Dîner francophone, which is an event held once a month at a francophone restaurant in New Orleans. This month, we dined at Canal Street Grill enjoying Chef René Bajeux’s fine French cuisine inspired by his upbringing in France. Diners at the Dîners francophones enjoy French wine, cuisine, and conversation.

Ce mois nous allons au restaurant Canal Street Grill avec un groupe de l’Alliance Française. Chef René Bajeux nous presentera un repas de cuisine française.

Rendez-vous Interview: In our second interview this month, we’ll meet the new and first executive director of Friends of Laffite Corridor (FOLC), Sophie Harris. FOLC is a local nonprofit whose mission is to revitalize the Lafitte Corridor by working to build, program and promote the Lafitte Greenway as a great public space. Sophie will speak to us about this great project and greenway opening in Spring 2015, and how the history of the corridor ties in with the French heritage of our city.

Notre deuxième invité ce mois d’octobre c’est Sophie Harris, la nouvelle directrice de Friends of Lafitte Corridor. Elle nous parlera de ce projet et son lien avec le patrimoine française de notre ville.

Let’s Get Lexical: In this month’s let’s get lexical segment, in celebration of Halloween, we’ll learn the French version of the song “The Itsy Bitsy Spider”, “L’araignée Tipsy”.

Dans l’esprit de Halloween, nous allons apprendre chanter « The Itsy Bitsy Spider » en français!
